Just watched the pilot 3/5 stars

Not sure what to think, i was ecxited as hell, but...
Why is van Damme so depressed looking? Also, some scenes especially with the double were a bit cringeworthy. I hope they are not going for so serious route with this show.

I think that's the point of the show. It's seems like they are going for a comedy type show.

Brother if you cant tell this is a comedy/action show then maybe its not for you. He looked like he did in the beginning because he was a washed up actor with nothing to be happy about until he decided to go back to work. If you were served dry Ramen noodles you wouldn't be happy either.

I personal loved it. Showed lots of potential. The first 5 minutes are so were ok, but it started to really good and had some really funny moments. I am hoping it gets picked up and looking forward to seeing more.

I know its nitpicking but all that swearing felt out of place, the acting overall was a bit amateurish

Well, I'm going to check it out right now and judge it for myself. I thought his did very well in Expendables 2. If Stallone and Arnold can keep it going in their 50's and 60's, there's no reason Van Damme can't make it work. I think he needs to play more villain roles. He seems to excell at those. I still liked him in No Retreat, No Surrender even though the film is very cheesy.

I'm a big fan and wasn't too blown away by it. It's got action and comedy but it has a little too much silliness so it comes across less serious than it should and loses some of the intensity. Pilots are never as good as the episodes that follow though so I think it could be a great show once it got its footing. I didn't like his love interest being so much younger than him though. I mean he's in great shape but it makes him look even older. I liked how he couldn't do the splits and looked like he was going through the motions as a killer/actor but the real life actor himself kinda looked to be going through the motions in some scenes as if they were rushed. I think it's all in the direction though, good directors allow for great scenes out of actors. Lot of cheese in this initial episode but it's interesting. I think they should just go full crazy with it myself, Hot Shots meets Kung Fury or something.
