It isn't about Republicans vs Democrats...

...it's about conservatives vs liberals. Sure, Democrats used to support slavery and the KKK, but they were also conservatives. The switch from Democratic party to Republican party happened around the time of LBJ and Nixon. The south has always been conservative. Democrat and Republican are just two badges to wear, while liberalism and conservatism are two mindsets, and they should reasonably be the focus of all this nonsense.

That the typical (but wrong consensus)
Republicans supported the civil rights act overwhelmingly over democrats, even though LBJ took credit for it but purely for political reasons alone (not because he is some kind of saint offering blacks a "democrat peace offering to apologize for all the racism and mistreat through the years 100 since the civil war".............
No he did this because he wants blacks to vote democrat...........
Racistly sound as this is, to steal the blacks away from the republican party for generations.

Actually, it's neither, it's the "Haves" vs. the "Have-Nots."

Although both parties are corrupt, the Republican policies tend to benefit the upper .01% more. Idealistically, though, there really isn't much of a difference. The majority of Trump supporters were non-college educated men who's felt betrayed and left behind due to the lack of blue collar jobs. Instead of getting a college degree, getting better jobs, taking personal responsibility and bettering themselves, they looked to the government (Trump) to take care of them. Something the Conservatives usually criticize.

Was watching something on the civil war recently and that more than anything was the south sick and tired of the north telling them what they think is right and trying to enforce it. It happened again in the election but the this time we won. NY and Cali do not represent the US
