It seems that i belong to the minority that i didn't like it

Palpable, foreboding atmosphere up to the point that they spent their first night into the cabin. Nightmarish imagery, haunting locations, VVitch and Blair Witch vibes throughout it was really effective. Past that point the movie somehow, not only failed to sustain the eeriness and uneasiness but it slowly dwindled into a horror/comedy especially after the revelation (deity/paganists), all sense of dread evaporated.

I thought the second half was weak as well.. started off eerily enough. I got the protagonist's (luke?) struggles with the fight-or-flight concept etc but the creature bit did not deliver..

I still like it overall, but I think it over stayed its welcome a bit during the finale. Its set up was very good and the characterisations were good from the actors, but the monster was simultaneously cool and underwhelming at the same time. I still think its a solid 7.5/10 movie.
