Yeah, this is one you need to see

The director deserves a lot of credit for making this movie work, and the actors did a excellent job of conveying the intensity and stress of their situation. I especially liked the glimpses of the wood deity. It kept me on the edge of my seat waiting to see more. Culminated with a pretty good ending. too.

Watch it!!!

I concur! Just watched it this morning. It has elements similar to "Blair Witch Project" and some John Carpenter movies. The acting was good, the ratcheting up of uncertain fear and the mood of the character's situation all played into a satisfying, creepy story.

I got a Blair Witch vibe too, and was also expecting not to get a glimpse of whatever was in the woods as a result. Typically those witchy wood movies don't like to show anything, so this was a very pleasant surprise. I found the creature both terrifying and mesmerizing somehow. Especially when it stood up to pray. Makes my imagination wander about what the rest of Asgard would look like in this canon. Perhaps not in the cloudy golden gates image we've been presented with in Marvel's Thor lol.

It wasn't an Asgardian god. The girl explained that the monster was one of the Jötnar, ancient gods that reigned before the gods of Asgard (at least in the folklore of the movie). So I wouldn't exclude the possibility of Asgard being golden and cloudy in this universe, but i'm sure it would be a whole nother level compared to Marvel.

She said it was one of the Jötunn but also said it was a bastard offspring of Loki. So I'm confused. Loki isn't older than Odin or his sons.

I didn't get too caught up in the folklore, I just enjoyed the movie. It actually kept you on edge and the payout at the end, was worth it.

Meh. I watched it and it was nothing special
