I don't really care about this casting, but I would like to say the constant race and gender swapping happening in Hollywood, and Disney right now is getting tiresome. I would love for women to have some great original roles instead of a role that was already played by a man. (Matlock, looking at you). Instead of race swapping roles, why can't studios fund movies written by different types of story tellers? I mean both Moana, and Encanto did well for Disney. Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022) is killing it. I really liked Slash/Back (2022). I think audiences are being really under estimated by studios right now. There are still good writers out there. There are still somewhat new stories to tell. There are a vast majority of folk stories that could make great Disney movies, if they let the right people tell them.

Right but the original creator had a specific look for tinkerbell.

No kidding. What color is a fairy? What nationality are they? Do they even have corporeal bodies? Do they even exist - OF COURSE NOT!

So if a fairy don't look like anything, and can be played by a spot of light or a series of cartoon cells, why the hell can't they be played by an actor with African ancestry.
