Behind the scenes

Its a great movie, I plan to watch it every winter to refuel the motorcycle spirit.

The only thing I thought was missing were the "boring details" - for instance: How far, and for how long, did they travel each day. Was there a car that followed with most of their luggage, did they ship the bikes back, and last and foremost - what exactly happend to Gentry Daytons bike, when they stripped it to its bare bones, and how did they fix it.

I know the movie isn't about the details, its suposed to capture the spirit of the adventure - but you know, a gearhead would like to know.

Im used to ride in a much colder climate here in Iceland - riding long distance in t-shirt and jeans seems refreshing

I agree, I would have liked to have seen more of the details about the breakdowns, did they camp out the entire way and with those tiny peanut gas tanks how far they could go before running out of gas. Oh, and explain why they would ride through the Bonneville Salt Flats in water with those exposed air intakes on some of their carbs??? That had to spell doom for those bikes if not on the trip at least in the future.........
