It's a comedy, I don't think we need to overreact to that opening scene.
The show is okay. Some really good lines, mixed in with some very predictable jokes. That final scene with the exploding hot cheese just wasn't funny enough.
Funny how people skip the "comedy" part and go straight for the dark side. This is both. It triggers sadness in many scenes but overall my love for Julian and Olivia comes out ahead.
