get rid of hacket

I don't know about anyone else but Chris Hackett is all ego and attitude if he ends up as one of the new mythbusters I wont be watching it

reply

To me the whole drama element seems fake or exaggerated for TV. I don't have a huge problem with it since a lot of shows do it but it comes off forced.

They ended up trying each ones idea...which was exactly what they were supposed to do. I don't see why it was portrayed that everyone had to agree with one method immediately. Each team had 2 or 3 days.

Your right to an opinion does not equal an opinion that is right

I would say allen is all ego and tude in a worse way than hacket.

Just they way he was mopey when he got shut down and then jumping for joy when he got his way..

reply

Yeah. This guy makes for some good drama in an elimination show like this, but as an actual Mythbuster, he would suck. It's all about him, all the time. And like Tamara said this week, he's a drag on the team - his ideas are awful.

The dude has GOT TO GO.

I want the doctor to take your picture so I can look at you from inside as well.

each ep, I keep thinking Hackett is going to be eliminated, this week for sure, when his 'wheel of death' or whatever, had to be scrapped, which put his team behind, but as soon as they started talking about Tracy not participating in the build, and being relegated to snorkel duty, did anyone not know it was going to be her?

I keep thinking he'd be fun to watch on the series, even if he failed, he's stated he likes to fail spectacularly, and on a show where 'failure is always an option,' he'd seem to fit, unless he was actually seeking the spectacular (even if it's obviously destined to fail), for the sake of spectacle, instead of actually testing the myths, then it becomes all about him, and what he can do/build

I was thinking the same on this week's A-Team episode before they announced they weren't eliminating anyone.

He doesn't seem to be good working with a team - trying to do work his own project to see if it might work better than the other idea(s). He seems to come up with the most dangerous ideas without taking any safety precautions (wheel of death). And he also seems to consistently be among the worst performers on the individual challenges (bike building, handcuff escape, football catching).

reply

I agree, and this week, with him making the understudy, safer alternative build, couldn't believe that

reply

I like Hackett but he is suited to more of a show where he is in charge and builds large crazy things that might work or not. Not a Mythbuster unless he starts working with the others better and building things a bit faster and safer.

reply

I agree

Hackett actually had a show like that a few years ago.

I started out liking him, but that didn't last too long. He's got a wild look about him (and I don't mean the hair). He may be partially blind in one eye, which adds to the odd air around him.

He who fights and runs away, lives to run away again!

Stuck with Hackett, I enjoyed the show wish it would have lasted more than 10 episodes. He just seems to work better alone on tv then with a team but he was a red team captain on Junkyard Wars rarely watched it though so dunno how he acts when in charge.

I could see Hackett doing something like Dangerous Toys if it was turned into a series not a one off special. Him vs one of the other builders trying to destroy each other. lol

I would love to hear from someone who has gone to The Madagascar Institute and actually been taught by him and hear how he is in real life.
