about the myth, testing, and results
I think it's embarrassingly bad. to take this week's gun myth as an example,
1- myth is not explained properly/understood by the producers of the show. The hero in movies, usually escapes by turning the lights off. that's not the myth examined in the episode.
2- what they wanted to test for is not tested properly.
2.1- usually turning off the lights means close quarters, which means very close range.
2.2- the hero is usually human sized and not a small floating target in the air.
2.3- shooting guns at night produces flashes can help follow up shots to connect.
2.4- humans don't make these noises while walking or accidentally knocking down objects. It's easier to track some sounds compared to others.
3- they actually hit human sized target in the test
4- Mythbuster has the habit of calling the myth busted if the average/below average Joe can't do the myth. that's laughable. if they had tested these contestants shooting guns at an 80 yard target, they would have busted the myth of guns shooting targets. if they had these contestants do a large distance marathon or swim without proper and extended training, they would have busted the myth of walking, running, and swimming.
anyone agrees? if you don't agree, be specific.
