While I've seen the movie and that major middle finger to what the original film declared about how the bond between a dragon and a human worked, I would love to hear more opinions on this change of canon!

Hyperbaloney!!! While I still have fondness for the original after making me cry as a kid, the DTV prequels aren't doing any justice at all more like retconning the canon!
