This film is very average

I really like Rose and Ethan - but this is not a great film at all. Very average as I say in the heading. Not terrible, but not something you are going to watch twice.

So not true! I just saw this movie, and found it extremely enjoyable.

Will definitely watch again when it comes out on Blu-ray.

reply

it was good enough, maybe not something you need to pay to see in cinema

reply

I thought it was pretty good. I wasn't bored with it. I saw it for only 5 bucks...cheap night.

You should sign up for AMC Stubs A List, if available in your area.

I just signed up about 2 weeks ago.

I agree. Perfectly good for a one-time viewing and it was interesting, but not something to watch many times. Which is okay.

Was a film that really needed a script writer to give it a second run. The story was decent enough but it could have been fleshed out much better for the comedy side of the ex-boyfriend.

Any good ?

I watched it and it was okay... seems as though they spent a bit too much time in the opening act and then ended up rushing the final act. It really depends on what type of movie you are looking for as to whether you'll enjoy it. It is probably best described as a rom-com but a little too light on the comedy side. Maybe closer in feel to something like Four Weddings and a Funeral. I would say watch the trailer, but in this case if you watch the trailer it is pretty much a complete summary of the movie... if you don't mind that then just watch the trailer and if you enjoy that premise then you'll probably enjoy the movie.

Agree they spent too much time on act 1, then rushed the rest. However, there were some hilarious moments.

My main problem with this movie is that I didn't find it plausible for the Ethan Hawke character to have just disappeared, with his most obsessive fans unable to track him down. I mean, they didn't explain that the guy had changed his name or gone into hiding (if they did, I missed that part). And didn't they say he was still collecting music royalties?...and he was busy with several different girlfriends, having kids, etc. I guess it would have been easier a few decades ago (before the internet) to just disappear from the public eye without being found. Nowadays, you would pretty much have to fake your own death.

reply

Well I do agree that they should have been able to find him... but how hard did they really look? And with him living in his ex wifes garage it might make it a bit difficult to locate his whereabouts...

reply

Probably the most interesting bit is showing what happens when you're a superfan and you meet your idol, but they should done more with that.
