rated 15 in UK

Watching it last night actually had to get up and check the box to look at the rating as graphically murdering kids had to be hard 18 territory. but vaguely recalled seeing a 15 on the box.. sure enough was shocked it was indeed a 15

how the hell did it not get an 18? even without the kid murder scene the film is as creepy as The Shining and that was 18 (although think it was re-rated as 15 on DVD so I guess the rating board figured 'oh just give this a 15 as well'.. plus 'IT' was 15)

It always depends on who's rating the movie. Some reviewers are more generous. The torture scene was unnecessarily graphic. They didn't need to show the torture.

I can't imagine anyone watching that scene and thinking 'yeah that's fine for 15' ..unless they weren't aware there was an '18' rating they could select (who knows with all the unqualified people filling up jobs now)
