Good actor and think it would have been a cool choice.if there's one actor that naturally looks and sounds enough like Nicholson to truly convincingly pull off playing his son its slater.

No, he should've been cast as Jack. He has a reputation for emulating Nicholson anyway, the eyebrows and voice etc.
