Will we see Jack Nicholson in this?

Like in flashbacks? that'd be so awesome.

reply

Doubtful. But we might see a demonic ghost version of him.

reply

Yeah cause he's supposed to be a part of the hotel after the end of the first movie right along with the other ghosts?

reply

I don't remember the hotel being in the second book at all. Was it?

reply

I mean we see the hotel in the trailer, so guessing since this is more of a sequel to Stanley Kubrick's movie its gonna have some stuff in it thats not in the Doctor Sleep book.

reply

Yes, “Jack” should be in the movie in some form, if they’re sticking with the Novel. Maybe a young CGI version of him?

Spoiler***

At the end of the book Danny goes back to the Overlook, but in the book it had been destroyed. He ends up encountering the ghost of his dad there.

reply

That would come with a big price tag. Not a chance.

reply

If not, there's always the original.

reply

Please God, no. It's best to treat this as a totally separate entity to the Stanley Kubrick movie, and more as a sequel to the original Stephen King story. Any attempt to solidify this as being a sequel to that one specific film, would in no doubt demystify some of that movie's mystery, intrigue, and much debated meaning.

It's best to keep the references just vague enough so that it fits being a sequel to any of the three existing versions of the tale (book, movie, and miniseries). Sorta like how Blade Runner 2049 deliberately avoids using any one version of the original film as its source. In that way, it respects all prior versions.

reply

I hope so too. That would be cool. :)

reply

Hahaha... Well OP Jack is sort of in it, in a way, a funny kind a way. :-)
