The Hallmark Inside Joke Continues - What Are You Doing Here?

Hallmark movie watchers (like me and my wife), take a look at my discussion of this inside joke in my post at "Valentine Ever After." The streak of Hallmark movies continues, each of them including the sentence "What are you doing here?" Many times the sentence is quite rude or out of place. Suspiciously, it appears again and again in Hallmark movies.

In "Tulips in Spring," there are several "what are you doing" phrases but they don't end with "here." It is as though the writer is taunting us. Wait for it, ... wait for it.... And so at the very end of the movie, finally, we get it: "What are you doing here?" asked by one main character to another (I won't spoil it), in a context where it would be odd or rude to ask it.

Waiting for that sentence in each movie is now part of the fun and gives us another reason to watch the two Hallmark cable channels.
