Some characters are shaping up and some are not.

It is beginning to look like they selected the cast first and then started writing the script. Kareema is one such character, itseems to me.
Ever since it was announced that Sarayu Blue joined the cast, I was looking forward to the show. After 6 episodes, I am not sure why they created this character at all. Sarayu Blue is a talented actress; can do much bettter than walking around and passing a few comments.
Evie's character is developing well. I am not sure of Xavier. It seems like he has forgotten about the apocalypse, except when it is time to cross out a line in his list. Hank and Deidre's romance has gotten real hot, pretty much like Grey's Anatomy. Where else can they go now? Would they ever return to work? Timothy is now speaker, that is nice.

Frankly, there is enough romance on TV. I would like see conflict arising out of work environment. There is plenty of drama to show from that perspective. We have seen a bit of it in the latest episode. Let's if they continue on those lines.

If Blue has talent, it isn't evident in this show.

I've never seen such a wooden character. Blue is awful.

I understand what you mean. In a way I agree with you. Actually, what I am trying to say is the way the role is cast. There is not much scope to act; most of the time her role is only to hanging around other characters. It is almost like the creators created this role only to have an Asian face, their justification for diversity. On the other hand, take Hank for instance. The role is all over the place.
I sincerely hope the writers recast this role, make it more challenging.
I am losing interest in this show, to be frank. Probably, this is not my kind of show.

I like the black guy, and the lesbian, and Evie. Xavier, not so much.
