Evie could have given him more time

I thought Evie could have given Xavier more time to read the material she had given him. He had spent a lot of time working on his theory, and it's not like he was just going to throw it all away at a moment's notice. She could have given him a few minutes to look it over. Instead she gave him an ultimatum and bolted to the airport. That was a bitch move.

I agree. He never said he doesn't want to come to Iceland with her, he just wanted to see what he did wrong.

reply

Yeah, it was. But it makes sense, as Evie's a bit of a self-saboteur. She waffles forever and then, the second she comes to a decision, everyone else has to be on board with it, quick, before she changes her mind again.

You have to look at it from the point of view that she has always thought the idea was just too far fetched to be true to begin with. She went along with it because it was yeilding positive results with her life. She got away too caught up with it, especially when the findings that it was debunked could mean she would get to spend more time with someone she has come to fall in love with.

I couldn't put it better

That doesn't explain why she took off to the airport without him.

Exactly. If she had actually been trying to look at it from his point of view instead of how it all affected her, she wouldn't have been so quick to force him to accept the findings. What was up with this whole deadline-to-prove-your-love thing? Why quit her job, hop into bed with her ex, dump him, give Xavier some random deadline, fly off to Iceland, get a new job, and fly halfway round the world when Xavier asked her to go to DC with him? What's her big rush if she really doesn't believe him?

I felt as though everyone (including Xavier) but Evie grew up and moved on a little. But that Evie regressed and became more childish. It didn't help that Evie talked to Xavier about going off to Iceland to have an adventure on her own (which was actually a cool idea), but what really happened what that she spent half of it meeting cute with some brand-new guy in which the audience had zero investment, and then spent the last few moments of the season finale with him on a plane. We didn't even get to see her reaction to Xavier's theory being proven because she was the only major character who didn't find out before the credits. She was completely clueless.

The very last thing Evie needed in the story was another love interest. I don't get why they did that. It just made her look like a total flake.

I don't think I'd call that a meet-cute. It was too awkward and I didn't think they had chemistry.

I liked this show but the ending sucked.

How did it suck?

I'm talking about Evie running off to Iceland without Xavier and finding a new love interest. She treated him like crap. The new guy isn't even interesting.

Ahhh! OK.

I guess (technically) Evie didn't have a new love interest during the Iceland trip, since she was pretty steadfast on making it a solo journey without Xavier. It wasn't until Evie realized that Xavier and her were set on two different paths that she "gave in" to the possibility of the new guy. At the end, she said something like, "At least it's not the end of the world", which I took as her starting a whole new life for herself.

Of course, I could be completely missing the mark.

The funny thing is, that if Xavier hadn't make her create her own list, they'd probably still be together.

She didnt slept with her ex.. that was the memory from college, as they mention it later.
