Palm trees in Seattle?

During the Pilot episode, at the park, there are a bunch of palm trees in what is clearly a park in Los Angeles, not Seattle, but they digitally add the Space Needle in the background. This is so lazy. If you're going to digitally insert the Space Needle to remind people the series is set in Seattle, don't film in a park with tons of palm trees. It's so lazy. Also, Seattle isn't perpetually sunny like the series implies. Just set it in L.A. if you're not going to make the effort to actually establish a legitimate Seattle atmosphere.

Television is a vice; film is an addiction.

yeah it was odd. I noticed it too. then I noticed winter tires in a later episode and I'm like, but there were palm trees in the pilot.... lol.

The pilot was actually filmed in LA. After it was picked up by the CW they moved it to Vancouver and set it in Seattle, probably because it was way cheaper than keeping it in LA (or anywhere else in the US).
