Primer got it right.

If traveling back in time were somehow possible, the way it was depicted in the ultra low budget movie Primer lines up with Hawking's theory. Basically if you want to go back 6 hours into the past, you would have to spend 6 hours in the time machine, and so on. That movie was really hard to follow, but it looks like they were on the right track.
