I love this show....

I have a disabled 11 year old. She can not walk so she uses a wheelchair. I can totally relate to the family on this show. My daughter does talk but not clearly. Everyone in my family live to what she can do. The mother is great. I have been in situations where I want my daughter to live a normal life and we treat her normal. I do fight for wheelchair ramps and handicap buttons. This show is great. With my daughter.....This is our NEW normal......!!!

Good post.  I have no children myself (and didn't grow up with a disabled sibling, as the show's creator did), but I started watching primarily for the actors who play the parents -- indeed, dad Jimmy is probably my favorite character so far -- and ended up really loving the kids and Kenneth too.

I loved it when jj got drunk which was hilarious.

And Maya and Jimmy's giddiness over finally being able to punish him for something -- that was cute. 

Agreed. I have cp and I have done pretty well, but always resented the idea that I have it easy/. As a college prof, people assume my phd is government paid off it isn't. This family genially cared about each other, without being victims, finding that balance is rare
