Dunno about this one, though the Ray-and-JJ plot here sounds like it might be more interesting than the straight-up rivalry in the Christmas episode.
Also, I've been hoping to see JRB's real-life wife (and fellow UCB vet) Jamie Denbo in a guest role; I wonder if her character will get to interact with Jimmy...

Go, Jimmy! (Though I can't help feeling that his downplaying his success for Maya is somehow going to backfire on him; that, or he may possibly end up overwhelmed and/or ill himself by episode's end...) Nice to finally see a JJ-Dylan plot, as well as the family rallying around Ray when he needs them.
Also, I wonder if after this is where a Jimmy-Kenneth plot could come in -- similar to how he rewarded Ray's sacrifice for JJ at the end of "Ray-cation," I think it would be so sweet to see Kenneth 1) giving Jimmy a chance to do something enjoyable he otherwise wouldn't have thought about doing himself (letting him use the hot tub, taking him out for dinner / drinks / karaoke, etc.), or 2) feeling compelled to get to know Jimmy better by taking him out to do whatever he likes...

ABC also had an unusual Wednesday lineup, with Tuesday comedy Fresh Off The Boat getting an outing in the network’s Wednesday comedy block where the family comedy previewed before moving to Tuesdays. It logged a 1.5 18-49 rating, up 25% from its most recent episode on Tuesday and the second-best result of the season behind the premiere. Still, FOTB was off the delivery in the Wednesday 8-8:30 PM slot of incumbent The Goldbergs, which drew a 2.0 (L+SD) last week. At 8:30 PM, freshman ABC comedy Speechless (1.6) slipped two tenths with a softer lead-in but ranked as the top program of the night in 18-49, a first for the newbie. Following a Modern Family repeat (1.3), a new Black-ish (1.5) slipped two tenths from last week when it had an original lead-in. Match Game (1.0) ticked down a tenth.
