Ep.2 Dolorme's boss (name ?)

The one who has tasked her with exposing Cardinal.

She tails Cardonal at 2:00 am, a time when all good folk are asleeo, so she suspects him of being up to something. Her boss tells her to stop the tail, in case she is spotted which is quite lame. She is a cop after all and can surely follow someone without being spotted.
She and her boss then meet in a carpark and she gets her ass chewed off for doing her own thing. The fact that Cardinal appears to be laundering money seems to be of no interest to
????(Dolormes' boss). He seems more comcerned with her insubordintion which makes me wonder about him. Is he involved with the drug lord as well ? and is trying to distract Dolorme from investigating too deeply ?

Except she was spotted by Cardinal (He recognized her car).

Yes, I know. The football thingy in the window.
Still doesn't explain the boss' negative reaction to the laundering of cash or Cardinal's
"so what ?" reaction to being followed by his assistant

First episode was good but alas episode 2 was riddled with weak writing. I hated it.

It turned to *beep* very quickly. They dumped all of the soapy crap on us all at once: trying for a baby, insecure boyfriend, and her feeling attracted to her emotionally damaged partner.

Yes, I just finished ep. 4 and got the same feeling.

The boss either has a personal vendetta or is dirty himself, given the lack of paperwork on his "investigation."

My early guess is that it's the reverse. Cardinal suspects him & "laundered" the cash to see who was following him. Why else would he use a dufus like that guy Colby (?).

Interesting subplot, anyway, eh?
