The wacky, hyper animated humor kind of kills this show

Well, not completely "kill" but it does take the quality down a notch or two in my opinion. Like when Lance is explaining their big plan out to Hunk and he's going all over the place and even breaking the fourth wall. Are they trying to make him like Deadpool or something?

I'm really loving this show and am almost done with season two, but I got to ask if I'm the only one who thinks the humor needs to be toned down a little.

Agreed. If they had to keep the humor i wish they'd limit the over-the-top stuff to dedicated episodes, rather than in virtually every episode.

Respectfully disagree.

Anyone who uses the term "Mary Sue" is a dirty neck beard having homosexual hipster.

Have to agree. It really undercuts the characters and the effectiveness of the story.

If they did the "wild takes" from S2 back in S1, i may not have tuned in for a second season.

I thought the same thing in season one. I became quite skeptical of the series when in the first episode, they did a fart joke. And then as soon as Coran came out of cryostasis, he starts doing goofy kung fu, which was very unrealistic for the situation. If they wanted to insert a bit there, they could've had Keith catch Allura and then, Lance, wanting to have a princess fall in his arms too, catch Coran before he figures out that it's a guy inside that pod.

The show could use more subtle humor. We already have Lance (and Hunk) being goofy. I think Coran should've been a more serious person to play off of that with deadpan or dry sarcasm.

But there are certainly a lot of stuff that I like. Off the top of my head, there was the Arusians (esp. the cuddly baritone one that Keith hugged and the sacrifice). Another one I liked was the part where they were making laser sound effects. While it wasn't chuckle worthy, it's a conversation I've had with my guy friends and it just made them a little bit more real to me. Also, "I'm a leg!" was pretty funny. And then there was the space mall episode. The ones that seem too much mainly involve Lance and Coran.
