Identical Ending to Crimson Peak (SPOILERS)

At the end of Crimson Peak Mia Wasikowska Jessica Chastain says "it's over when I say it's over" and Mia Wasikowska smashes her in the face, seemingly killing her. Then Chastain gets up and says it again, to which Wasikowska replies "I heard you, bitch," successfully smashing her in the head.

At the end of The Shape of Water, Michael Shannon shoots them and says "I don't fail" in a way that reminded me of Chastain's line. Then the creature gets up and disposes of him. The scene is very reminiscent of the Crimson Peak ending. Did Del Toro rip himself off?
