This is a must see for all NE fans-supporters.....a lot of good information about the fellas and their journey.

Thanks LBL5000,

will watch later, but between the great behind the music episode and the great BET film, how much ground is there left to cover in this documentary?

reply

looking at the screencap for part 2....and just noticed, why does Bobby Brown have the WORST mustache trim in HISTORY???????

reply

They talk about a lot of stuff that was left out of the movie especially concerning the early years and in relation to Bobby being kicked out of NE in this Being NE program. As well as rehashing some material that is already well known. I enjoyed watching it- hope you do too...

Thanks, just watched it. Great group interview where they are giving each other props.

This is the third time I've seen/heard Ralph say that kicking Bob out wasn't a unanimous decision in different interviews, unless I misinterpreted.

Was it the camera angle, or had Rick just gotten plastic surgery?

The guy who never talked,Ronnie, gives the best interviews and answers in these modern N.E. documentaries and footage. Throws me off because I'm not used to seeing him speak at all.

Overall, thanks for this and glad that N.E. is getting their full props from the fans and industry while all the members are alive to enjoy it.

It wasn't an unanimous decision as Ralph didn't vote Bobby out but BBD did 3-1. Also, Bobby talks about his plans of going solo to perform a different type of music but NE gave him the boot before he could leave them to go solo but he had already begun recording King Of Stage while still in the group.

I don't think that Ricky had plastic surgery if he did it would most likely be to remove the mole on his forehead which is still there but his nose looks the same to me.

Also, the remaining 4 fellas (RT, JG, RD, RB) on the Home Again tour made a little bit of money on the 2nd and 3rd legs of the tour as per Ronnie. But they still got sued and JG lost his house behind this tour and had to move in with Eddie Murphy....

Mike calls Ralph out all the time over this and always says that it was a 4-0 vote to kick Bobby out.

This doc. does fill in some of the blanks..including that there was a second leg of the aborted Home Again tour..smaller venues but I'm sure it was sold out.

The Home Again tour can be summed up by what happens when a bunch of star players are thrown together on a sports team. nobody wants to play the back, everybody thinks he's the man and it falls apart.

I think all the pre-johnny guys resented Ralph and when they blew up it all came to the surface.

*Hilarious hearing that they said that "*****" must be related to MLK!!!

don't want to spoil THAT part for those who haven't watched it yet.

If they edited this better, it would be comparable to the Behind the Music.

Mike, Ron & Ricky have all said at one time or another that all 4 of them voted Bobby out.

Home Again was the Drugs & Egos Tour. Egos aka the devil's voice....where do thoughts come from that just pop into our heads?

I think that they may have resented the record companies making Ralph the star and management pushing Ralph extra hard. Maurice Starr even took Ralph by himself to conduct a radio interview in NE's Streetwise Records days. Bobby and Ralph should of had near the same amount of lead songs on a NE record with Ricky getting more solo singing parts too.

Notice Ralph said that Mike is controlling, manipulating when talking about Mike's working with other groups and in business meetings. To me it seems like he was talking on a subliminal level about NE as his voice and body language show some tension there in my eyes.

Ralph was blatantly shading Biv with his answer. Biv's manipulations are what helped save the group though. Gill ended up being the perfect guy at the perfect time.Biv recruited him.

It seems the resentment towards Ralph was all based on female fans gravitating toward him. Ralph was the centerpiece of the group, the lead guy doing all the work but the pie was split evenly 5 ways.
In a subtle way, they showed this in the film. Watch the scene again where Ralph comes to the room after the guys have already paired up with groupies. Watch how the girl Biv is with eyes Ralph.

I won't spoil this part of the film but in the doc. above....that $1.87 check from the first tour seems like a fortune compared to ...............
