Robert Eggers doing remake in 2017

Now I'm confused....so there will be two remakes of Nosferatu coming out?!! Robert Eggers director of "the Witch" was hired to do a remake for 2017....if his version of Nosferatu is anything like what he did with "the Witch" it should be terrifying. Not so sure about this version.

this one is in pre production and has it's own page and the eggers version never got past an announcment. that means the eggers version isn't going to get made. there's not going to be 2 remakes of nosferatu at the same time.

The two films couldn't be more different.

Eggers' film is going to be like The Witch. It's going to be based in the same kind of meticulous historical research, set in 1830s Germany and exploring the actual origins of vampire folklore.

Whereas this one is a gimmicky 'remix' of the 1922 film, putting new actors into the original environments using green screens. This is headed straight to VOD for sure. I don't think the producers of the Eggers film have much to worry about in terms of competition, any more than the producers of Krampus needed to worry about the 3 or 4 other straight-to-video Krampus movies that came out that year.

Eggers said in November that his Nosferatu is moving forward as his next project: http://collider.com/nosferatu-remake-robert-eggers/
