Why Is She So Mad At Eric?

The conflict in this movie just wasn't very strong. I didn't hate the film but it isn't one of Hallmark's best.
Why was Claire so mad at Eric? He is a guy most women would be thrilled to date, yet, because her
mom arranged the first meeting, Claire considers dumping Eric. It makes no sense. This conflict seems
very contrived and not convincing.
