Must be fake as hell or the Feds would step in.

I know it's a TV Show 1st, and factual 2nd, but how the hell does thst Sheriff still have a job, if half this sht is real ?

Being every inmate shown on camera would have to sign a waiver , and why they would sign , knowing they committed several felonies on camera is beyond me. There must have been largely faked.

The present sheriff is the new boy on the block. It's his job to clean things up. In order to do that he has to find out the answers to a few very important questions, like who, how, what, and where. Hence, the undercover op.

Second, it's a county lockup, not a state or federal prison. In other words, not the Feds problem - yet, anyway.

Signing releases? They're already on camera in the jail anyway - remember?

reply

They did ave to sign releases though, they were told it was for that first timers show

I wondered the same thing. I bet they gave them some extra commercary or something as reward for signing the release like an extra ramen noodle or something LOL

It depands. The inmates that actually played a role probably will get paid, but the rest are no different than a bystander. Sorta like on a Reality Show where the main cast member walks by someone. The person being passed by do not get paid.

Many jails and even prisons are like this. The inmates run them.

I've wondered how they do this too. There must be some type of federal or state law that allows the release of inmates info tho because I remember awhile back that Sheriff of AZ who broadcast in real time the camera footage of his county jail. You could literally log on at any time of day or night to watch the live webcam broadcast of what was going on in that jail!!!

I'm just completely guessing here because I'm not even American but I wonder if it has anything to do with the Freedom of Information Law the USA has. I've always been surprised (but grateful, too!) that so many police interviews of suspects can be posted on YouTube along with so much other information about suspects regardless of whether they were eventually determined to be found guilty or not.

In Canada where I live nobody could get away with that! I know both countries have the "Innocent Until Proven Guilty" judicial process but the fact that this type of information can be released in the USA seems a bit of a contradiction whereas in Canada it *may be* the #1 reason why you would never see something like this (at least until after the suspect was proven guilty!)!

Of course I'm not a lawyer....or professional....or really even a half-ass smart person....so these are all just my thoughts and I may as well be talking out of my ass!!

I did see a least one blurred out face and surprised there weren't more. If it were an option, don't think I'd agree to have my face shown in there.
