Kate. She's such a difficult and disgusting character, and on top of it all, she's responsible for Jack's death. The mother is a saint for keeping her after he died. If I were her, I would've placed that monster with social services.

I agree that Kate is a monumental pain, but I don't blame her for Jack's death for the following reasons:

Jack forgot to buy the batteries for the smoke alarm.
Jack didn't turn-off the crock-pot.
Jack already had plenty of smoke inhalation when he was rescuing his children. Maybe enough to kill him?
Kate only called the dog to come out - not ask or beg her father to go back in the house.
Jack decided to go back in the house despite the pleas of Rebecca.
Jack decided to not only save the dog, but get the family album and Kate's videotape which added to the smoke inhalation sealing his faith.

Partially Jack's fought, but mainly just a horrible accident. Or we can blame the neighbor for giving them a defective crock-pot in the first place.

"...sealing his faith."

"Partially Jack's fought..."

Oh my. Back to school with you!!!

LOL! No more postings from me while burning the midnight oil.

Thank you! I can't stand Kate. She is such a whiny self-pitying bitch. Her modus operandi is always to whine and then whatever man is around will help her. Really, first her father, then her brother, and then Toby. (Run Toby Run!)

And it killed me that in the last episode young Kate wanted to get rid of the dog-- AFTER everything Jack did to get it out of the burning house. If I'd been Rebecca, I would have said, "Kate, that dog is the last gift you will ever get from your father. We are keeping the little dog and that is that!"

So you think it was possible for her to avert certian disaster had her judgement not been so clouded by her unbridled enthusiasm.
