I love the show and Mandy Moore, but I don't buy her a a sixty- something woman. Frances Conroy, Frances Fisher or Swoosie Kurtz came to mind. Someone else suggested Diane Keaton. I also think that Sally Field would have been good.

I was half-kidding about Sally Field, knowing the height would be an issue. Did not realize MM was 5'10"....have noticed that she and Jack are about the same height, sometimes she even looks a little taller.
shareI dunno. I don't really like the older version of Moore's character. Moore shows less emotion and it makes Rebecca seem too reserved in comparison to her younger self.

shareSally Field is the only one who would resemble her, but too short. I think they kept it at Mandy Moore because of the back & forth sequences. She's already an adult in the flashbacks. Whereas, with the kids, it's easier to change actors because their still growing.
sharePhylicia Rashad would have been a perfect choice to play an older Rebecca. She was awesome in the Cosby Show and is the right age to play the character in 2016/2017.

I think Mandy is doing a great job, but they need to make her look much older. She was 30 when the triplets were born, they're now 36, so she's at least 66.

T, she is a beautiful woman, and I can see Rebecca being vain and doing stuff to keep herself youthful. Hair dyeing, botox, etc. So her playing a 66 year old woman that can pass for early-mid 50s ain't too far fetched
