Goggins

I can't help but see his character in Justified, and to a lesser extant Sons of Anarchy, when I see him. Imagining him captured, I keep waiting for him to try to smooth-talk his way out of the situation.

He's my favorite character on the show.

If you haven't seen The Shield, do yourself a favor and watch The Shield right now. Shane Vendrell could very well be his best character.

reply

I agree that Vendrell is a great character, but him as Boyd Crowder was a thing of magic.

But as he stated above go see the Shield now, one of the best cop drama's out there.

I think Goggins is consistently great in Justified - it also helped that he had some fantastic dialogue to work with in Justified. In The Shield you can see him grow as an actor. But by the end, I think he reaches heights in The Shield that I don't think he reaches in Justified (not to diminish his role in Justified - Boyd Crowder is one of the greatest bad guys put on TV, and one of my favorite characters of all time. It's just the character arcs I'm talking about.)

reply

I may have trouble separating him from Boyd Crowder in Justified, but still, Goggins is the only reason I am watching this show!

I can't help but see his character in Justified,

Unfortunately, my first remembrance of Goggins is from the TV Show "Vice Principals." It was hard to make the adjustment in seeing him in movies, like Django and Hateful Eight.
