I didn't get that part. Why did Luke say that to Ellen and what does it mean? If the answer is obvious, then I'm sorry I missed it. Please explain.

It's a poem.

And like a poem, it uses quite specific imagery, metaphors, etc. We could try to decipher it of course but that will somehow interfere with the appreciation of its beauty.

Thanks so much for replying to my post. I will take a close look at that poem in a little while.
I don't know why the director chose to place it in the dialogue like that. Would never have guessed it's from a poem or such. Hmm... now you've really got me thinking.

As you can see there's probably no use in analyzing just this one phrase... It's more like why did the director choose this particular poem, how does it add to the drama, etc.
