When will we know if the Pilot is picked up?
Or does it work differently for proprietary streaming shows than normal TV shows?

shareEvery year Amazon has different pilot premieres. For comedy the pilots are:
1. The Tick
2. I Love Dick
3. Jean-Claude Van Johnson
Whichever show has the highest ratings/viewership and comments will get picked up and made into a show.

Yes, all three pilots are competing against each other to get picked up for a season (maybe more if S1 does well) Every year Amazon has different pilots that are called "potential series" that first all start off with 1 episode to get people talking and voting.
The other two shows that don't get picked up (The whole thing is a popularity contest) are left alone and people forget about them and move on.
I heard the cut off for polling is september 19th. Whether we find out on the 19th, or if that's just when the polls close, is unknown. Could all just be a rumor but it sounds right to me.
I hope Van Johnson and Tick get picked up.
do you know what the criteria is? right now The Tick and JCVJ are tied but The Tick has 50% more votes. Is that enough to make it win?

I've never seen his stuff before. Could be completely unreliable. But it's the first date I've heard regarding the cut off. It seems like it would be a good sample size too. It came out on what? The 16th? So, it would have been out for a month, plus 3 days to tally sh!t up I guess and see what's what - so maybe we will hear some news on the 19th.
I really hope we get both. If people are loving both shows it would be dumb not to do both. That's like saying "Nah, I already have a $100 bill. I don't need two of them. Throw that one out." They're two different shows with two different audiences. Not fair to compare them. Both are good. Just do both.
