Acutally quite good

Compared to other rehashes weve had lately

I agree. I admit I found lots of the one liners quite funny, sometimes predictable, but that made them funnier.
Good old innocent 70's humour.

I enjoyed the 2016, 1988 version of Are You Being Served? Although the store Grace Brothers still seemed in a timewarp for the late 1980s. Not just the extreme formality but the way of selling products.

I must have watched each of the original episodes and specials at least five times as it was replayed over and over on PBS in the USA. I still get a kicked out of seeing the actors in other roles outside of

The main thing I noticed is that the pace of the actor's interacting seemed speeded up a bit. Part of the charm of the original version is that the generations seemed to run at different paces. The older folks seemed slow and doddering. The younger folks seemed perkier. Mr. Humphries did his own frantic thing.

Everyone on the 2016 show seemed to be on the same beat, about where the young folks were in the 1970s & 80s.

No two persons ever watch the same movie.

I would be interested in seeing another 5 or 6 episodes. The writer clearly has an affection for the original and as pilots go this was a success...
