A Masterpiece. A Movie Unlike Any Other Movie Ever Made

This is a bold new creative direction for film. I was super high both times I watched it, so I could be wrong. But this movie blew my mind

A movie like this would never get made for theaters. It's way too gory and R-rated for that. It's not super watered down like Suicide Squad. This movie is the full David Ayer experience but in a fantasy setting. In the theater world this would be unmarketable. In the modern world it's a "Netflix Original" and that's all the marketing it needs

To me it shows that streaming services are the future of film.

I don't think it was too far out there to be shown in theaters.

Ok so now that I'm not stoned obviously the movie is not a masterpiece. I do think it was a good movie and a good addition to the fantasy genre. The ending felt pretty weak and I think the movie could have been more than just End of Watch with orcs and elves

The writing had some weaknesses, but overall I think it was pretty good. I really liked Will Smith's performance, even if it's the popular thing to hate him now. Joel Edgerton, as always, is great

I think it's much better than the critics will ever admit. It was always gonna be hated by critics. Being the follow up movie for Ayer after his shit Suicide Squad movie. Because it has Will "long ass losing streak" Smith. Because it was written by gigantic megadouche Max Landis. They could never admit that it's a fun throwback to Will Smith's prime, nonsense blockbuster days such as Bad Boys, Men In Black, and Independence Day

I get high all the time, and this flick sucked shit through a straw.

Thread should be called "Idiot, drug addicts unite".

Go jerk off to your Kubrick and Bergman collection again lol. Bright was a masterpiece

I watched the trailer last night and thought it looked like fun, so put it on my Netflix watch list.

I'm not expecting a masterpiece. I'm expecting some good, fun entertainment along the lines of Will Smith's character in MIB being extended into this.

Not happy to hear if it's very gory. I'm not into gore.

reply

It's not gory. I quite liked it, despite the SJW crap and the blatant anti-police message.

reply

Good to hear it's not gory. That's the only thing that would have stopped me from giving it a try, so thanks.

I'm not into politics. When I watch a movie, all I care about is if it's decent or not.
