Would work better if the "universe" the film makers created was the star.

As a movie it kind of sucked, but it's a real neat concept - basically middle earth 2000 years from the defeat of Sauron.

This would be better served in episodic format that views the dilneations between races through a real-politik lens. Endless potential for great characters and plot twists and surprises in this scenario. It actually makes me sad that such a cool idea is wasted on this film.
