Pure Genius has been canceled!

“Pure Genius” ended its season last week, following CBS’ publicly announced decision to cap the show at 13 episodes. In keeping with custom at Bear HQ, its status has been changed to “canceled.”

CBS would likely dispute that. But tell the Bear: What does “we’re not ordering any more episodes” of one of the network’s lowest-rated series mean, then? It means it’s not coming back.

CBS isn’t having the greatest season, by its standards. But it’s not so dire that a show with numbers not much above replacement level, and which has no back-end profit on the near horizon, has any chance of returning. “Pure Genius” will be joining the Bear for a meal.
