Best new show of the Fall

I just watched on demand and it was an excellent show. I'm very impressed with the lead character. She's believable and likeable. The story with her dad is a great storyline.

It was good but, imo, Notorious and MacGyver were better.

I have been wanting to watch notorious.

Pitch. Notorious. MacGyver. Three strikes, you're out.

The story with her dad is a great storyline.

Really? Because, I was laughing my rear-end off at the scene where Ginny after her terrible first start for the Padres reflects upon on her younger self, when she was having trouble throwing strikes to her father in the backyard of their home years ago.

So, her dad suddenly pauses their practice for a moment and asks his son (and Ginny's older brother who was watching them practice from a distance) to come a little closer to him. About, arms length closer at the very least before he asked him, "Do you want to help your sister?"

The son replies to his father, "Yeah"

So, their father bitch slaps his son in the face as hard as he can, then tells Ginny to throw him a strike. Implying that if she doesn't throw him a strike with the next pitch, then he's going to bitch slap her brother again, and again until she throws a strike to him.

So, now faced with the possibly of her father beating her brother to death if she doesn't throw their father a strike, a young traumatized Ginny quickly composes herself and throws a strike to her father, thus stopping the beating of her brother at the hands of their father.

A scene that is designed to tug on the ol' heart strings because, while Ginny's father managed to create a major league pitcher out of his daughter, he possibly created a homicidal maniac out of his son. So, I responded with lots of laughter to avoid dealing with the emotional horror of that scene.

This show is different and fresh. The lead actress is great and I'm looking forward to seeing how the storyline developes with her teammates. I'm tuning in and setting my DVD.

I would vote for This is Us, feels way more realistic than Pitch.

I'm really disappointed. I came here expecting to find lots of people loving the show. I guess you and I are the only two who liked it. I'm looking forward to episode 2.

reply

No, it isn't just 2 of you. Many of us like the show but a few very vocal TROLLS hang out here just to say negative things about the show. Try not to pay attention to them, let's watch a few more episodes and see how the stories unfold.

I like shows that are different with new actors/actresses. The storyline is great so far, if they have good writers, they should be able to come up with different scenarios. If Hollywood can continue to make major movies with men who are over 50, 60, even 70 years old. They star them as leading men, who continue to kick everybody's ass and have a young love interest, then I can believe a young physically fit female in her twenties can pitch in the Major League.

I'm excited about it. No your not the only one. The people who don't like it are more loud than the people who do.

I love it, remember the excitement surrounding Mo'Nee Davis in the Little League World Series a couple of years ago? They took that and ran with it and I say good. I have one son who played and no daughters but my gosh, how heartless can one be not to see the look on the faces of female fans in both the show and that Little League series....Good job Fox
