#1 On Best TV SHOWS

Good i love that !

reply

Looks like Breaking Bad and Games of Thrones fanboys have already tried to down its rating, 265 votes for 1 lol.

reply

It will go down soon. As if a nature documentary could ever be the best TV show of all time. Perhaps for 70+ year olds who have nothing better to do with their time.

reply

And 20 year olds who have nothing better to do with their time. Most folk that vote on IMDb aren't pensioners.

It's a damn good show - check it out.

reply

True, but this show isn't exactly aimed at young people.

And I have actually seen it, and it is great as far as nature documentaries go, but I think a 9.6/10 and the #1 show in the world is somewhat hyperbolic.

reply

And yet, Planet Earth I is number 3 on the list and it has been around for a decade, longer than either BB or GOT. It was number 2 until Planet Earth II came along. In fact, there are 4 nature and 2 science documentaries in the top 20, but I doubt it is all 70+ year olds voting for them on IMDb. 'Nothing better to do with their time' describes most people in this place though, so no arguments there .

reply

Yeah its great. So much more rewarding to watch this than any fictional scripted tv show.

reply

I dont consider any show a #1
You are a fool for thinking this will top BB or GoT.
Neither any of the latter can top PE1/2
Each show is different than the other
I just like this to be #1 on the site to send a message about nature to people.

Its a show telling us that we are ruining nature. And we must act. Why wouldnt it be #1? Not many shows do that
(Add on top of it the commentary and the magnificent filming)

reply

It comes no where close to BB and rightfully so. To compare it among them is not fair to begin with.

reply

It is silly to say such a thing. Giving TV shows absolute ratings is nonsensical. Breaking Bad is a great example of excellence of dramatic serialisation and Planet Earth II is a great example of the highest achievement in accessible natural history documentary making. They are different beasts, both brilliant and will be loved by people the world over. Saying one is better than the other is like saying electronics is better than penicillin. We'll take both.

reply

There's hope for humanity.

Whatever you are, be a good one.

reply

An argument could be made that it's not even the best documentary series of the current TV season...
