"The Great Indoors" Offends Millennial Media

‘The Great Indoors’ Offends Millennial Media – TCA http://deadline.com/2016/08/the-great-indoors-offends-millennials-joel-mchale-stephen-fry-mike-gibbons-tca-1201801426/

Another media member, non-millennial, asked Gibbons if he was “worried” that the show would be dismissed as “middle-aged white guy complaining about his lot in life and having to deal with millennials.”

Joked Gibbons, “Our show is going to make America great again,” .

“So you are the Trump show?” Non-Millennial Media Member snapped back. “I’m just seeking clarification.”

“Irony comes through in print, right?” Gibbons quipped.

Back to Millennial Media Members: “Do you want millennials to watch your show?” one asked. “Cause you come out here and, ‘Ha, ha, ha, millennials are so sensitive and PC,'” that person asked, calling it “so negative.”

This time McHale jumped in, saying that if the show is offending millennials, it’s “the best strategy ever.”

Harris and Gibbons, particularly, took heat from some millennial reporters for describing millennials as being “coddled” and insisting on an “overly PC workplace.” Gibbons insisted that the series pokes equal fun of the older employees, represented by McHale and Fry, and that the concept came out of “me being made fun of by millennials” while he was headwriter at The Late Late Show With James Corden. “It just occurred to me, when is 40-something the new 80?” He added, “There’s going to be an equal amount of jokes… made at the Gen-Xers and how they are made to feel so old so quickly.”

Good in my opinion.

Send them to their safe space and throw away the key.

Millennials being offended...? What a *beep* surprise. You should read The Wrap's review of it, and how rattled that poor widdle millennial was.

I work for a park dept. and I live this show. I was at a farm program once and not only did someone ask me if a pig was a real pig, they asked me if the woodstove had a real fire in it.

I couldn't offend that person, but this show can do all that and more.

reply

"Is that a real fire?"

I don't even...(Jackie Chan Face). I think if you take them camping it can break them.

Read the book Nature Deficit Disorder. That is my life.

They whine about having to walk from the parking lot to the activities with their kids when they chaperone field trips. And the kids whine, too, and one of our best parks for field trips is only a little more than a mile all the way in.
