That sex scene man...
Was pretty much straight up lesbian softcore porn. I'm surprised they even were able to show that on TV. And I'm not just saying that because it is two girls, I would be saying the same thing if it was a guy and a girl..

There has been an awakening. Have you felt it?

Seriously... I am actually watching this with my mother right now who is a huge lifetime fan and she's been watching it since I was practically born. She thinks this movie is to inappropriate for television. She said that scene was the raciest sex scene she's ever seen on Lifetime (and she's seen them all) so that says something right there!
shareHey Kay,
What you wrote, I couldn't help thinking of my own mother. She's also a big fan of Lifetime films. I'm thinking she would've shared a similar reaction to your mom also (I don't think she's a fan of horror at all, actually). She wasn't home when I saw it though. It was just by chance, after catching the NBA Finals, that I came across this Lifetime film. The info section piqued my interest, and after watching for the first hour, I was hooked. I can't say that scene shocked me, I just didn't expect it to occur when it did in the film.
The sex scene aside, I was left wondering why Mother May I Sleep with Danger, had such a lingering, emotional effect on me. Then after some reflection, I realized the challenges and experiences of the two lead characters, played by beautiful actresses, resonated with me. They're both outsiders in their own world, dealing with their own painful, frightening, and challenging environments (to a certain extent, I suppose Leah's mom does too). I've often felt like an outsider myself, especially earlier on in life. The antagonists, on the other hand, are such callous, creepy, obsessive jerks, that it's befitting they all wound up together.
So even with its faults, interestingly enough, this movie still had meaning to me. I didn't really like the ending much, but hey, I don't know how I would've ended it myself. If anything, I guess it brings folks together in its own strange way, such as on this message board. Thanks again for starting this thread Kay! :)
with hugs,

Omg! Yes, I thought the same thing, i didnt think they were able to show all that on TV
shareLifetime the ----USED TO BE WOMAN IN PERIL Channel...............Pfffft.
That much have been at Francos insistence, I mean for the sake of the story...
shareI gave up after a half-hour. There was actually more, after that play rehearsal scene with the 5 girls? Guess that was just the warm-up. What a terrible movie, apparently just an excuse for lesbian porn. Not that I have any problem with that, in its place. Not on Lifetime!
share*sigh* Originally cable networks were to be anything goes. Now they are like the standard stations. Stuff on Lifetime, SyFy, FX, whcih which we PAY FOR were supposed to be commercial free and unedited.
Oh well! Ripped off again and no one complained or not enough complained and just took their commercials with their pay per month and edited content! If ya want what was supposed to come with your cable bill you have to PAY EXTRA to get HBO!
So the lesbian sex scene here should have been far more graphic.
Here here.
I am sure if this had been on HBO, it might have been more graphic. I liked it but would not have minded it being more graphic.
