Revelations hurt my soul

This is on track to do the same. As a diehard hellraiser fan im willing to see someone else don the pinhead makeup despite never being on the level of Doug Bradley. But considering we have no more slasher icons and most horror nowadays is pure throwaway or slow burn hype machines that fail, the weinsteins need to just give this series back to Clive and let him bring back the world he created. Everything else is just insulting to fans at this point.

So, would you say that Revelations tore your soul apart?

But seriously, from what I've read about The Scarlet Gospels (Clive's own novel sequel), giving the series back to Barker may be a bad idea.

Thit and thpin!

I think anyone would be better than the folks at Dimension at this rate, but I kind of feel the same way about Clive Barker. His interpretation of Hellraiser has changed since 1987, or at least since he was involved with the Epic Comics series. He was directly involved in the writing of the Boom Comics series from a few years ago, and that series heavily leaned on the idea that the cenobites are "cosmic cops" who exist to ensure that ultimately, bad people will be punished for their Earthly crimes.

Add to that, Pinhead's quest to leave Hell and get into Heaven because he's "bored" of exploring the sensations of the flesh, and it just comes off like Clive is himself is bored of the original concept of the cenobites as sadomasochistic explorers of experience. Ironically, the idea that the purpose of the cenobites is to punish sinners originated in Hellraiser: Inferno, a movie he reacted very negatively to when it was first released.

At least Revelations tried to be more like the first one than the 4 movies before it.

I peed.
