The Shining meets the Amityville Horror meets... (Spoilers Possible)

Lights Out. And probably a few others. At least some of the "source" material is good. But the ending is a mess. It's like they took the Shining's ending (book version, not movie), but neglected to give us the critical scene of the dad deciding to sacrifice himself for his daughter.

Instead they have a completely unbelievable coda tacked on to the end where a "cop" (if you want to call him that) interrogates the wife because he believes she may have killed her husband. And the movie itself tries to suddenly switch it like maybe this is true, even though there is nothing before to suggest that at all. Then, despite the fact the house burned totally to the ground, there is another family apparently moving into a (newly built) house in the same spot which looks to be still haunted.

Some decent atmosphere, and of course the ghost kids are creepy (daughter is creepier!), but it blows it at the end.
