the complaints about fridging

I don't get it. I know fridging is when a female character is killed for the purpose of furthering a male character's storyline. I would find that more upsetting in a TV ensemble or something, but you realize the movies are named after that male character, yeah? Meaning the primary focus is servicing his story. So...
