Deadpool is too strong

He gets broken in half, his neck gets twisted backwards, he blows himself to pieces ...

Yet he lives.

At some point, you lose the suspense needed to maintain interest.

I think the comedic element of Deadpool is more the point than his actual powers.

reply

Nah, you can't get rid of him. That's the whole point of Deadpool. He's the most annoying guy in the world and you're forced to put up with him.

It's accurate to the character. In the comics, Deadpool's healing factor is even more powerful than wolverine's. He's basically unkillable. Also has some degree of superhuman strength and speed. Marvel states he can lift 2 tons and run at 80mph.

He should have been more powerful in the movie, if anything.

reply

Yep if they had used his real comic book powers he'd have insta-healed and grown his legs back when he blew himself up.

reply

Domino is even more unkillable. She's basically Donald's cousin Gladstone Gander...

Ya got to disagree on this one....

I've never been a fan of Healing Powers because they dont make sense....

If you actually had superhuman Healing Powers ....for example if you got your arm torn off...It wouldnt grow back, It would just Heal in seconds to a Nub....

You couldnt take a gun shot to the head or heart because it would instantly kill therefor your superpower healing wouldnt matter, Guns shot to the stomache, arms legs you could withstand , You simply take them and Heal within second....even a shot to the Liver which would be fatal, you could probably survive if you had superhuman healing powers, it would probably take anywhere from 30 second to a few minutes to die from a Fatal shot the liver, Your healing factor could kick in and save u....

Your Body would also He nothing but a Scar canvas....as a Healing factor would just Boost and amplify your Human Healing....Therefor, if you got cut a 7 inch cut on your back...It would heal within seconds, but you'd have a 7 Inch scar....thats how every wound would go...your body would be nothing but scars

But Head shots and Heart shots are just Impossible even with a Healing factor

Growing Limbs back is impossible

therefor I've never been a fan of Healing Powers....But.....If were going by Deadpool....Hes not too powerful, everything you see on screen is actually how his Powers work in the comics...

and since thats the only real Super power he has....If you want to make His Movies and character interesting in a film...You've got to use that Power and use it to its max, You've got to show him taking unimaginable Injuries....and to the movies credit, They design some action sequences around his Healing Powers, They dont just have him get blown apart and get horrific injuries for nothing....action sequences are designed around him getting hurt and using that injury to his advantage, when he fight Cable in The Jail, He Literally uses his Broke arm to Tie cable up while fighting...

again If your talking about Healing factor in general, I hate them, they make no sense and I agree the things you see on screen are not plausible....

but Deadpools Healing Factor is accurate and the over the top-ness of it is a must because his character simply doesnt have any other powers, You have to go all in on His Healing factor

There are animals on this Earth that can grow back amputated limbs, including starfish and lizards. Lizards can even make their own tails fall off, to escape any predators that grab them by the tail, and the tail will grow back. No, normal human beings do not have the power to re-grow limbs, but I'm not saying it'd be impossible for some mutant with unearlthy powers, because they aren't like humans.

And that it's impossible for someone who's been blown into little pieces to grow back. I mean which part starts growing the new body - the head? The head that has no blood or oxygen circulating through the brain, until a new torso grows and a new heart with it?

Seems a somewhat redundant complaint. Humans can't instantly heal themselves. It's not possible at all. It's a fictional super power, so why do they need to try to keep them realistic?

reply

Totally agree... I guess maybe to kill him you have to squish/cut him up to a thousand pieces, and then burn all pieces into ash and spread them thinly about so they cannot reattach again... ugh.. otherwise he's like invincible...

Brown better not watch the X-Men 90s cartoon cause there is a scene at the end of the Mr. Sinister arc of that cartoon where they blow Mr. Sinister into several tiny pieces and Jean uses her powers to scatter all the pieces of himself all over the Savage Land. He ends up reforming and comes back in a later episode as if nothing happened.

Too strong. Too red. Too self-aware. Too witty. Too mouthy. Too loud. Too in your face. Too cool. Too fun. Too ridiculous. Too merc-y. Too unkillable. Too much for the haters. Too uncompromising. Too damn sexy. Too rated R. Too fast healing. Too true to his comic counterpart. Too annoying for Teenage-What-the-Fak-longest-name-ever. Too horny for Colossus. Too Canadian. Too Ryan Reynoldsy. Too Marvel. Too... amazing.

And you know something... we wouldn’t have him any other way!
