Went to a taping...

The episode's name will most likely be named "Art for Art's sake". Main Guest stars are Cedric the Entertainer and Susan Cryer. No tv date yet. Usually 3-4 weeks but up to 2-3 months is possible.

Story:
Jermaine tries to get his art into an art exhibition around the corner but the owner (Cryer) is not interested. His friends from the Donut Shop try to help him.
Cedric plays Jermaine's Dad Reggie.

The taping took over 6 hours (longest of the tapings I have been to) and was a lot of fun. Cedric couldn't keep his mouth shut and kept mumbling bad words so they had to redo a lot.

If you have questions ask me. I'll also go to a "Young & Hungry" taping on the 21st.

Slight spoiler:
A funny "wall" joke by Fawz.
Spoiler end.

6 hours? Do they give you drinks?

LOL, you would think. Six hours is a long time. I knew the shows had to take longer than just 30 minutes to film because they'll start out wearing one outfit then change and be wearing something else in another scene, so they have to take time to dress in different clothes for different scenes. I had no idea it could take 6 hours, though.

The length of the episode depends on complication of scenes and possible pre-shoots they usually do during the week (mostly outside stuff) which they then show on a small screen so you know what's going on. The shortest taping I've been to was around 3 hours (Two broke girls).
Oh. And don't forget: That time is just the taping itself. All together we were there for 9 hours (3 hours before start of taping).

You can bring beverages and some food yourself. During one break they hand out water and sandwiches (sometimes Pizza) and candy. I've been to several tapings over the last few years : Big Bang Theory, Two and a half men (Ashton though), 2 broke girls and more. They always hand out something.
BTW: The "Young & Hungry" episode I've been to hasn't even aired yet afaik.
