Thought about the ending

I had a thought about the ending and where the second season arc could go (if there is one). Don't read this if you haven't seen the series.

If I had to come up with the premise for the second season, I would have Dory, after feeling anger at Chantal's insouciant demeanor at all the effort expended in finding her as well as the fact that Dory actually killed someone over the missing girl, convince her friends to actually kidnap Chantal. The series would show them going on with their lives while holding Chantal hostage.

Perhaps Portia would start a web series based on what they are doing with Chantal and eventually sell it to TBS (or HBO, wherever). Elliott would become a famous writer with his book. Drew would get some office job. Dory would mostly deal with Chantal and trying to find meaning in her life. The group then becomes the subject of another search party; maybe Keith's brother (or sister) is in law enforcement and tries to find him. (Another wrinkle to Keith's story could be that he actually didn't die and they have to keep him captive as well; perhaps Agnes Cho is brought on to give him medical attention...for more money for her animals; in fact, maybe the group starts doing well and makes a lot of money only for it to go to Agnes.)

Anyway, that's what I'm thinking. Any thoughts?

I like the idea of kidnapping Chantal& having to hide from Agnes&the authorities after killing off Keith
Only problem is the fact Drew&Dory are so very over,...unless killing Keith is what unites them
Plus it also totally writes Dory's arrogant ex-boyfriend & Elliott's on/off boyfriend outta the show
Maybe do some kind of I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER kind of thing

Kudos for the creativity, but I think that would weaken the whole show, first season and beyond. Sure Dory did some dumb *beep* but her heart was always in the right place. At least compared to her friends.

It was such a powerful and complete ending in my view that it would be near impossible to continue the story with out weakening it all. That is also what makes it a fun exercise to think about but ultimately if down at all it should only be done by the original writers.

Dory goes to jail. I can't see them being smart enough to come up with any other plan other than to have everyone go their seperate way and for Dory to take the full responsibility. Plus, I doubt there is going to be a second season, that ending pisssed me off.

Hey, let's hope the show even gets a second season first.

I really hope they do a second season. They can't leave this unresolved.

I assumed a second season was imminent due to it being released 'binge-mode'.

I liked this show. The last episode kind of pissed me off. haha All that wonder, for nothing.

But, it has been renewed for a 10 episode second season. That and People of Earth. Which I digging. Odd show. haha I watch it at night. Last show I watch at like, 2am. Perfect show for that time.

(Spoiler ahead) Considering how this first season ended, I would be even more curious about how there can be a second season. One slim possibility is that Keith actually survives the double blow to his head plus the blood loss and ends up with a case of amnesia after waking from a coma. Otherwise the only premise I can see is that their arrested, (plenty of fingerprints, people aware of Dory's search for Chantal, their vehicle with New York plates possibly spotted leaving the scene).

The ending sort of reminds me of the film Prisoners it the fact you search for one answer and get the complete opposite but you get something wrong that you believe to be right from the onset.

First off... Dory didn't kill Keith. She used a taser on him. Even after hitting his head on the counter on the way to the floor, he wasn't dead. It was the blow to the back of Keith's head by Drew that had the potential for killing Keith. Then it was Elliot that insisted they cover it up when both Drew and Dory wanted to call the police.

IF Keith is dead, it was pretty much all in self-defense. The main problem is the cover up... but this would be a pretty hard murder to solve anyway since none of the people involved actually live there, no one lives in the house, and it's a foreign country with yet foreigners in both roles. If anyone would get blamed it would probably be Chantal since she had been living in the house and her prints would be everywhere. Plus Keith showed up calling out to Chantal... so he didn't even seem to expect to find Dory there. So even if he told someone where he was going, he would have noted he was tracking Chantal to that house.

So season 2... I think they go back to NYC and become well known for having found Chantal... and be cause of that, other people seek Dory and crew out to find their lost loved ones (or things)... which they reluctantly do. I could see season 2 ending with the body of Keith being found and it being on the news or something which would setup a Season 3.

Another thing I could see for Season 2 is they go along with taking Chantal back home... and as soon as the dust settles rushing back to Montreal to find Keith's body gone. So they don't know if he is alive or dead and the whole season could be searching for him as well as other people due to the fame finding Chantal would bring.

I don't get the idea of having a second season? The show is over.
It was first made nearly a year ago, delayed often, then finally released with the
entire 10 eps in one week. There couldn't have possibly ever been any idea of another season.
I liked the series, and found the "Eyes Wide Shut" ending interesting though I'm sure most saw something like that coming. And for a "dark comedy" with goofy characters, the ending seemed too dark for what had appeared before it.

yeah, that part confuses me quite a bit.
