Thoughts?
Let's get the negatives out of the way first... This often felt a bit aimless and meandering and would have benefitted from being limited to maybe four episodes and tightened up... It owed an awful lot to "District 9", etc... The tone wasn't quite right, with the comedy elements fading in and out, rather than being integral... I suppose the sudden full frontal nudity was another tonal issue... I'm certainly not prudish and, generally, think film and programme makers should be less coy about nudity. But, getting an eyeful of massive alien todger in the last few minutes of the last episode, after the rest of the series had been todger-free, felt out of place, as if they randomly decided to say: "Look - the aliens really do have big knobs..!" On the positive side... This did have touches of originality - I loved how the slang term for the aliens was "morks". (Would anyone much younger than me know where that came from..?) I always find Michael Socha and Michael Smiley very watchable and the more I see of Jim Howick and Michaela Coel, the more I like them too... It certainly could have been better. But, I found it perfectly entertaining.
