technically is Nigerian-British. His parents are Nigerians but grew up in London.
shareugh I KNEW it. because there are no African-AMERICANS who can play black guys in space! They did the same nonsense in Interstellar and that God awful Matt Damon movie about Mars. For some reason they don't let real American blacks go into space!!!!

You also mentioned two films by directors that tend to hire British actors.
Finally as a rule of thumb British actors tend to be cheaper, have better trade craft and aren't 'perfect' compared to their American counterparts. Hollywood doesn't tend to breed talent, it has a very narrow gamut of what an actor should be and directors don't always want that.
God-awful?? Really, why? I know some parts were inaccurate or didnt make sense ("Sandstorm? We gotta go back to earth!") but I thought it was good.
