Excellent documentary; horrible title

The ONLY reason I watched an episode of this was because it starred Ellen Page, but I was not in any way expecting a viable educational documentary! With a title like "Gaycation" , I expected a cruise featuring Ellen as a guest and a lot of partying and pro-gay or pro -LBGT people mingling and drinking and doing all the other things that happen on a cruise.

This is an excellent documentary , showcasing a wide range of people and what they live each day as LBGT in their various communities.

Unfortunately, this documentary is preaching to the choir. I dare say NO ONE who has a negative (or even neutral) view of LGBT is ever going to watch this with a frivolous title like "Ellen and Daniels Excellent Adventure". Oh, sorry, that is " Ellen and Daniels Gaycation".

I don't think this show was meant to...preach to anyone. I think this is a show that was meant for the choir you speak of. I think this is a show FOR LGBT people and allies. I'm gay and I feel like the show was made for me, for someone gay. I mean...it's on Viceland. Viceland is arguably the most liberal channel on TV, so I don't expect anyone who is anti-gay to ever tune in anyway. It's kind of like someone really liberal turning on Fox News.

My point was simply that it would have been great as a documentary.

I wish it had been given a different title. My husband, neither pro nor anti gay, might have learned something and been more sympathetic to what the LBGT community faces. But not with that title.

Yeah, I sometimes wonder is it Gay vacation or Gay education.
